Kind of a Scary Wednesday
We had kind of a bit of a scary Wednesday.
I woke up still with a bit of head congestion, that was about it so I decided to go to work. Zoie-Lynne moved a tiny bit, felt like she turned over, but that was it. Went to work & took look lunch and everything was fine. I was on a call & I started getting very dizzy, lightheaded, short of breath & sever abdominal pain. I started messaging James that I didn’t feel well, that I felt very off. The call ended & I made my way to the bathroom, no bleeding. I wanted to make it downstairs & outside (to get fresh air), I took the elevator down, but it was getting to the point I couldn’t even stand. I ended up sitting on one of the chairs outside the elevator. James picked me up & we didn’t hear back from the doctors office so we headed off to the ER.
They took me straight over to the Women’s Health center. At this point I had bad abdominal pain, light headed, dizzy, nausea & every time I opened my eyes I felt like everyone & everything was spinning out of control. I also hadn’t felt Zoie-Lynne move, she usually loves to kick & punch thru the day, but nothing, so we were very worried. They got me to my room & put the baby heart monitor up, blood pressure, asked all the questions. She had a good heartbeat, she just wasn’t moving.
We stayed there for awhile. I was hooked up to an IV for dehydration, gave a blood & urine sample. Making it to & from the bathroom, that was in my room I’d get short of breath & even more dizzy. I kept my eyes closed most of the time because I still felt like everything was dizzy. With the IV & the lots of water they had me drinking I started feeling a lot better. My blood work came back fine, but my urine came back with high amounts of glucose. The nurse had me pee in a cup & she dipped a little strip in it & it was still high in glucose.
Since I started feeling better they decided to discharge me. They said I could possibly have gestational diabetes, they will know more about that when I have my test done on the 29th. It could also have been a digestion issue that could have flared up. Also, I could just be sick with a cold or the flu. They sent me home with a list of things to look out for, make sure we’re both fine & doing okay. The signs of preterm labor, how to monitor fetal kicks & some other things. Also, I need to start drinking more water, apparently while pregnant I need to drink 2 quarts of water a day. Also, bed rest & sleep. Depending on how I feel maybe return to work Thursday, but get sleep & rest up.
So we left the hospital & we needed to get water, since we still haven’t bought a Brita for our sink yet. We made our way to SAMs Club to grab a case of water & then came home. I was walking very slow & I started getting short of breath & then I smelt something horrible I started sweating, shaking & getting very lightheaded. Luckily we only needed water & we made our way to the car & home. I should have stayed in the car, but I really didn’t want to sit alone in the car or go home & sit alone.
We made our way back home & I ate some food & passed out. I woke up to use the restroom & going from the bed to the bathroom I got dizzy and a bit short of breath. So I’m laying here sinking water & will probably go back to sleep. I found as long as I sit & don’t do any moving, as in walking, I’m fine. I get a little dizzy watching tv, but that’s about it. Hopefully this will all pass in a day or two. Until then I think I’m going to sleep as much as I can & hopefully make it to work.
